Plants can grow on land and in water and there are various types of plants that grow in water but one may not be aware of these because of the fact that not everyone has come across such plants but the fact is that these plants do exist and attract a lot of fish and other animals living underwater. There are even certain types of soils under water and so, it would make sense for there to be certain types of plants that grow in water as well.
One of the most interesting types of plants that grow in water is the Sarracenia which is a plant that is actually referred to as a carnivorous plant. These plants usually capture gnats and mosquitoes and then, ‘eat’ them. They also do this to other types of insects. These are considered to be must haves and despite their carnivorous diets these plants actually look quite beautiful and would add color to a lake or pond.
The Amazon Lily is another of the various types of plants that grow in water. The flower is usually seen in the summer rather than the winters because the sun is stronger and you will also see that these types of plants’ leaves can grow pretty long and they are easy to grow and smell quite nice- in case you are interested in buying these for yourself!
Then there are those types of plants grow in water in which smaller fish hide from larger fish that prey upon them. The seagrass is an example of such plants. Frequently smaller fish hide in seagrass to hide from their hunters. Seagrass is also eaten up by fish and other animals underwater. These types of plants that grow in water are nutritious and can produce their own food via photosynthesis.
Some types of plants that grow in water include the cattail that makes water look beautiful. These types of plants that grow in water have long stems and the flowers are red in color and are smaller in size. However they are generally short overall and are considered to be dwarf plants. The parrot’s feather plant is another of the various types of plants that grow in water but these can also be grown on land. These plants are excellent sources of oxygen for your plants. If you have fish and want to grow these in your aquarium or in a pond, be careful because sometimes their growth is uncontrollable and too much oxygen is never good for fish.
These are just some of the many types of plants that grow in water. There are some plants that can be grown on land and in water too and usually these plants are excellent sources of food for fish and they also make lakes, ponds, aquariums and the sea/ocean quite beautiful to look at.
There are many other types of plants that grow in water too and these are usually able to survive due to the process of photosynthesis which allows them to make their own food.
