Types Of Dot Paper

As is obvious by the name of the paper, dot papers are those papers that have dots on them and there are different types of dot paper, too. They are used for different purposes and you would find them in different patterns as well. The dots may differ in size and color and many students do use the different types of dot paper when it comes to subjects such as math. When we talk about different types of dot paper, we talk about the space between the various dots (which are measured in millimeters).

The first of the various types of dot paper is the square dot paper where the dots are distanced from one another at an equal pace and length and if you looked at the paper you would see tiny square patterns could be made if the dots were to be connected. These are typically provided to students to teach them how to draw certain shapes and such like especially when they are in kindergarten. The dots are usually connected to one another by the students so that they can learn to make basic shapes like circles, triangles, squares and rectangles.

Graphs are types of dot paper too. If you look in close at the paper you would see that what actually helps make the graph paper are not lines, but dots that are very close together. These types of dot paper enable teachers to teach students how to make graphs by connecting the dots in a simple manner. These dots can be combined via the use of a ruler in order to make a graph and that is how students would learn to make the graphs in low classes.

Grids are types of dot paper too. These, too, are used to teach children how to make grids and the dots are placed close together but not as close as the ones that are used to make graphs and these types of dot paper are used to teach students how to make grids. Since grids are not as ‘compact’ as graphs and they are bigger too, the types of dot paper used to make them would have dots that are actually paced relatively further apart. Grids are generally bigger and wider and so the types of dot paper used to make them would have dots that are positioned that way as well.

Some types of dot paper are used to make gifts and wrappers too and they have nothing to do with educating children about grids and such like. They have polka dots or small dots that look pretty nice and can be used to wrap gifts in. These types of dot paper tend to be glossy and the dots may be different in color or they may be the same in color and you would also find quite a few gift bags that have been with these types of dot paper.

These are some of the common types of dot paper that can be used for different purposes.
