These are the types of child abuse that results from the physical aggression of a person. Keep in mind that the act of hurting the kid physically doesn’t even have to be intentional. Even when one does not mean to hurt a child physically, as long as he or she does, it is considered physical abuse. As long as the child will feel physical pain, then that is considered physical abuse.

The second of the types of child abuse is sexual abuse. Yes, there are sick minded people that can do sexual harm to our kids. Sexual child abuse is defined as any sexual act that is done by an adult to a child. Other activities that denote sexual abuse include fondling, intercourse, incest, rape, violations of the child’s bodily privacy, commercial exploitation, and many others. Keep in mind that the reaction of the child doesn’t matter. As long as there is a sexual act conducted to them, it is sexual child abuse.

The third of the four types of child abuse is emotional abuse or psychological abuse. You see, kids do not know any better. Just by not being careful with the words you use them may hurt them emotionally. They can easily take something wrongly and it may have an effect to their mindset, at present or in the future. The thing is that you should always make sure that you choose your words right when you are talking to kids, not only do these kids look up to you, you may end up screwing their emotions up far more than you can expect. Some forms of emotional and psychological abuse includes cursing, yelling, telling the child that he or she is worthless and unloved, causing the kid to feel afraid or in danger, and the like.

The last of the four types of child abuse is neglect. Attention plays an important role in a child’s development. This being said, the feeling of neglect affects them greatly. If you fail to provide the kid’s physical and psychological basic needs, then that is already a form of neglect. To avoid this from happening, you can always make sure that your child has enough adult supervision, medical care, educational needs, and the like.
