Psychology can be a tricky field and this is why there are many types of research psychology that are used there. You see, there are many things that have to be researched on when it comes to psychology. This is why it is very important that everyone gets to know the many types of research psychology as to be able to identify which ones are best to use in certain scenarios.
The simple experiment types of research psychology are the basic ones. They are the research methods that are used to find the different factors involved in a certain cause and effect scenario. There are many different ways to measure the results of these types of research psychology too. But generally, the process of the simple experiment starts from getting a default value, applying the research experiment, and observing the change that will happen to the value.
Correlational studies types of research psychology, on the other hand, are the research methods that are used to find out the relationships that are seen in different variables. As the name implies, this is the method that is used when the variables are correlated with each other, or when they have something in common. There can be two variables and there can be a lot. The goal is to be able to get whether these variables have a positive correlation, negative correlation or no correlation at all.

Basically, these types of research psychology use the observational research technique. Over a long period of time the researchers will observe the changes that will occur in a group of people, wherein they will be getting the data from the onset of the research first and many times as the research is ongoing.
The cross sectional types of research psychology are the research methods that compares the data and information of people who have lots of differences but somehow share a certain characteristic. These characteristics can either be ethnicity, social status, educational background, and the like.
