Types Of Yogurt
Regular yogurt, low-fat, non-fat yogurt, blended yogurt, and frozen yogurt are all different types of yogurt. Yogurt has multiple benefits for your health; for one, since it is made from milk, yogurt contains a significant amount of nutrients (proteins, vitamins, calcium and phosphorus); and for another, it contains probiotics that promote the development of ‘good’ bacteria in your body that both suppress the activity of ‘bad’ bacteria, and support a healthier digestive functioning. In addition, research suggests that yogurt can help you lose and regulate weight, as well as trim down fat, especially from the stomach area. In other words, if you are not eating yogurt already, make sure that you add to your daily diet immediately.
Regular, full-fat yogurt is an excellent source of nutrition, since it has not undergone any kind of processing compared to other types of yogurt. It contains all the vitamins and calcium necessary for your body, and it contains up to 20 grams of proteins per 100 grams of product, which makes yogurt the perfect meal any time of the day. The drawback of regular yogurt, of course, is that is contains an equal amount of fat (equal to its proteins), which means that if you are on a diet, you will have to choose the less fatty types of yogurt. In this case, there are two types of yogurt that you can choose from: either low-fat or non-fat. As the name suggests, the one is made from low-fat milk (or part-skimmed), while the other is made from skimmed milk, which contains no more than 0.5 % fat. If you are on a diet, it seems that the reasonable thing to do is to opt for skimmed milk; yet, the truth is that non-fat yogurt loses too much of its original taste (and many of its proteins), while the low-fat option just tastes a bit lighter (and has the same of amount of proteins). So, unless you are willing to sweeten up your yogurt with a teaspoon of honey, it is best if you chose the low-fat version; after all, 4 grams of fat that are contained in a cup of yogurt is not that extreme.
Besides regulating their body weight, people eat yogurt as a delicacy; not that it is that rare, but it can be that good in terms of taste. The ‘tasty’ types of yogurt are blended and frozen yogurt. Take any kind of fruit you like (peaches, kiwi, strawberries, and cherries are the ones used more often), throw it in your blender, along with a little sugar, and mix them together; the result will amaze you. Of course, buying blended yogurt from your local grocery store, will be even more tasty (although a bit more expensive). The most tasty of all types of yogurt, however, is by far frozen yogurt. Frozen yogurt looks like machine ice cream, since it is cold and smooth in texture. Again, you can add fruits to adjust it to your personal tastes, add chocolate, cookies, or anything else you can think of. Nevertheless, you should always keep in mind that frozen yogurt contains a lot of sugar additives, let alone all the sugar that you will probably add to it. Therefore, from all the types of yogurt this is definitely not the one that will help you burn fat.
All in all, know that you know what types of yogurt there are in the market, you can choose the one that suit you best.
