Types Of Solar Panels

What are the different types of solar panels? Solar panels are panels that are used to harness the energy of the sun. They are made out of many different types, hence are composed of different materials. This is why there are a number of types of solar panels.

The first types of solar panels are the monocrystal solar panels. These are types of solar panels wherein monocrystalline panels are used to create the large sheet of solar panels to harness the energy of the sun. There are metal strips that are laid out over the whole cell that will be used to act as the conductor of electrons that they will capture. Compared to the other types of solar panels, these types of solar panels are more efficient and are more cost effective.

The second types of solar panels are the polycrystalline solar panels. These are types of solar panels that are made out of a bunch of solar panels rather than just one big sheet. However, compared to the first types of solar panels these are less efficient. They are, however, known to be cheaper than the first. Therefore, more people who plan to use them in their homes are getting these types of solar panels than the monocrystal ones. There are two ways in which the polycrystalline are made. First are cast polysilicons. These are processes wherein the silicon is cast in a huge block that can be cut into wafers so that they can be used in photovoltaic cells. They are the cells that mainly harness the energy of the sun. They are conducting metal strips that are connected to each other. They are what form the electrical current that passes throughout the panel. The second process is the string ribbon silicon process. This is a process that uses the same silicon but there is a thin strip that is slowly drawn out of it. This will then be assembled into the panel to connect the electric currents to each other. The string ribbon solar panels are known to be a lot less cheap to manufacture than the other process. However, they are known to be sold at more expensive prices. Why is this so? Well, they are able to harness the sun’s energy better.

Lastly, we have the thin film panels. These are types of solar panels that have a distinct type of forming process. The silicon materials that are mainly used in these panels do not have any crystalline structure. They can, however, be applied directly to the film. Therefore, the technology used in these types use copper diselenide as their semiconductor properties help the solar cells harness for energy from the sun. These materials, together with some other, are joined together to form the sheet of photovoltaic cells that are aimed to harness the energy from the sun and convert them to renewable energy. The main advantage of these types is that they are very easy to manufacture and very cheap to make as well. They are known to be versatile too.
