Types Of Root Cells

The molecular structure of the route changes as it grows over a period. There are different types of root cells present in a single root, which play a pivotal role in overall growth of plants. Proper functioning of these root cells is essential to ensure good condition of immune system. A good immune system helps the route to absorb water, sunlight and increase productivity of food. Continue to read ahead as we provide information related to the different cell structure of the root system.

1.    The root cap

Cells, which are formed in the lower portion of the apical meristem, are known as columella cells. These cells sink to the bottom of the road over a period. Roots have the capability to absorb gravity and therefore the cells present at the root often show a downward progress in their growth. Development of new cells also aid in protrusion of the already present cells towards the downward direction. These types of root cells differ according to the species of plant and the region.

2.    The cortex

Combination of ground meristem cells forms the cortex in the root system of the plant. The cortex consists of three different layers. These are the hypodermics, the storage parenchyma cells and the endodermis. These types of root cells are the common actively present cells within any cellular structure of a plant root. All the three layers of the cells play a vital role in absorption of water as a whole.

3.    The stele

There are three main issues present in the stele – the pericycle, xylem and phloem. The pericycle is a layer of cells consisting in the endodermis structure of the root cell. This is an important player as cells within this layer of one divide, which in turn increases the total number of cells present within the layer. The xylem forms a solid core and helps in the development of strength within the root system. The phloem is often found between the xylem and phloem. These types of root cells play a major role in absorption of water, food and oxygen. A division of some cells further increases the growth of plant.

Types of root cells differ from one species of plants to another. It is essential to understand the root system to have a complete picture about the different cells present within the root. Cells play a major role in development of the plant. A good growth of cell is aided with improved water resources, air, and nutrients present in the soil. Growth of cell in their right time is essential to make sure that the plant receives all the energy and maintain a proper immune growth rate. Gathering complete information related to the root system will help individuals to perform a research on the type of cells existing in the root system. Elongation and maturation regions in the root system absorb nutrients from soil and store water in the cell walls to develop food for the growth of plant. Cells of root grow in large numbers in the elongation region of the root system.
