Types Of Music Awards

To honor the excellence and skills in various fields of music, different types of music awards are given to people in the music industry. Various awards are given in various fields such as best song, singer etc.

BEST SINGER AWARDS

Best singer award is one among the different types of music awards given to selected singers based on several criteria. The criteria vary from country to area to the awarding committee. Each award giving committee might have their own procedure for choosing a singer and it is not necessary that singers who got an award in one place should get it in the next place also.

This music award again has different types of music awards categories:

* BEST MALE SINGER

Best male singer award is the award given to the male artist who has met with the jury criteria.

* BEST FEMALE SINGER

As opposite to best male singer award, best female singer award is the award given to the best female artist.

BEST MUSIC DIRECTOR AWARDS

This is one among the different types of music awards given to the people who compose the music and this, again, award is given to those directors who has met with the jury criteria. It is not necessary that the music director of most popular song must get the best music director award.

This award can have categories depending on the song genre and region but it is not mandatory that for each category, different award should be given.

BEST LYRICIST AWARD

The best lyricist award is one among the different types of music awards given to the writer of the best song lyrics is known as best lyricist award. Categorizing this award is also done in the same way as done for best music director award because lyrics also depend up on the song genre, region and such factors and if award is categorized based on the above factors, best lyricist award should also be given accordingly.

BEST SONG AWARD

Similar to the award given to the best music, best song award is one among the types of music awards given to that one particular song which has fulfilled the judging criteria. In this case also, it is not necessary that the most popular song will get the award.

This type of music award can have sub categories depending on the song genre, region etc. For example, folk music and classical cannot be compared to select a best one among both. Most of the famous music awards give best song award under categories and don’t follow a universal best song award.

BEST INSTRUMENTALIST AWARD

This is the award given to the best instrumentalist. The instrumentalists who handled their particular instrument exceptionally well gets the award and the jury have several criteria to decide on that.

It is not necessary that one from each instrument type should get the award and mostly all the instruments are considered together and a best instrumentalist is selected.

BEST ORCHESTRATION AWARD

This is the award given to the person who arranges the orchestra. The right choice of instruments and their use in the right time is very important in making the music beautiful. Best instrumentalist award and best orchestration award are often combined together.
